Another day in the recording studio. It happened last Thursday, and it had been no less than two months since I’d been there, the very same day I received my diagnosis of twice-exceptionality (autism and giftedness). Due to circumstances with the producer and his personal life, I couldn’t go before, and the truth is, I was really eager to continue recording songs for my next album.
This time, it’s a song about the nostalgia I feel when I think about the times I used to go out dancing. Initially, it was going to be a dance song, but it ended up being a pop song that’s going to be very catchy, and in which I’m exploring a softer vocal delivery that I think will work really well.

I also showed the producer a new song that’s going to be an experiment. Something folk-like, sung almost in a lyrical, spiritual style. We’ll see how it turns out, but I’m really keen to try new things, to make songs that, more than just singing, tell stories. In this one, I say that I was wrong to think I’d never find love.

I’ll record this next album without rushing, without the anxiety of before, and with my new philosophy: doing things for myself without always seeking the approval of others, something I’ve done my whole life to fit in and be accepted. Not anymore. Now it’s time to think about myself.
